Termite Treatment the Grove Way

When termite activity is found in your home, Grove locates its full extent, traces it back to the colony, and applies targeted treatment to stop activity at the source. Most standard homes are treated for between $500 and $2,000, with the process followed by recommendations for ongoing protection.

Our approach

Find them. Trace them. Stop the colony.

Grove locates the full extent of termite activity using detection technology, traces it back to the colony source, and applies targeted treatment to stop activity at its origin.

Detection and assessment

Using radar detection, thermal imaging and moisture meters, including Termatrac technology, the team locates concealed termite activity in walls, timbers and subfloor areas, mapping its extent across the structure and identifying entry points.

Tracing the colony

Visible termites are foragers from a colony that may be metres away. Grove traces activity back to nests in the ground, tree stumps, retaining walls or stored timber to determine the right treatment and ongoing protection.

Colony treatment

A non-repellent termiticide dust is applied directly into active termite galleries. Termites carry it through the colony via contact and grooming. Strategic bait placement may accompany dusting to intercept foraging activity and support control.

Follow-up and monitoring

After treatment, follow-up visits confirm colony control and monitor for new activity. You receive a detailed report covering treatment methods, treated areas, findings and recommendations for ongoing protection.

Ongoing protection

What comes after treatment?

Treatment stops the activity found on the day, but it doesn’t prevent termites from returning in future. Grove recommends one of the following for long-term protection.

Retrofit termite barrier

A chemical barrier installed around the home’s perimeter, using Termidor trenching or Termcoat, to help prevent new termite entry.

Bait station barrier

In-ground bait stations installed around the perimeter and serviced every 6 to 12 months for ongoing monitoring and control.

Questions

Termite treatment, answered

How do you find where the termites are coming from?

Radar detection, thermal imaging and moisture meters, including Termatrac technology, locate concealed activity. The team traces it back to entry points and colony sources in the ground, tree stumps, stored timber or nearby locations.

What treatment methods do you use?

A non-repellent termiticide dust is applied directly into active galleries and carried through the colony via contact and grooming. Direct nest treatment is carried out when accessible, with strategic bait placement sometimes used alongside dusting.

Is treatment covered under my PerimeterCare Complete plan?

Yes. If you’re on an active PerimeterCare Complete plan and termite activity is detected in a warranted area, treatment is included at no additional cost.

How long does the treatment take to work?

Colony control isn’t instant. Non-repellent dusts typically work over several weeks. Follow-up visits confirm activity has stopped and monitor for new signs, with timelines varying by colony size and how established it is.

Will treatment prevent termites from coming back?

Not on its own. Treatment addresses the active colony found on the day, but it doesn’t create ongoing protection. A barrier, baiting system or management plan is recommended for long-term defence.

Should I disturb the termites before you arrive?

No. Leave the area undisturbed. Disturbing termites can cause them to retreat and re-enter elsewhere, making them harder to locate and treat.

Does home insurance cover termite damage?

No. Australian home insurance policies generally don’t cover termite damage, which is why ongoing protection matters given the cost of repairs.
