Who we are
This website is operated by Harnel Pty Ltd (ABN 52 051 421 580), trading as Grove Pest Control (“Grove”, “we”, “us”). We are committed to protecting your personal information and handling it in accordance with the Australian Privacy Principles under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).
Information we collect
We collect only what is reasonably necessary to provide our services. This typically includes your name, address, property details, contact details, service history, payment information, and photographs taken during the course of providing a service.
Sensitive information
Where it is relevant to the safety of a treatment, we may collect health-related details such as allergies or chemical sensitivities. We do not collect information about your racial or ethnic origin, political or religious beliefs, or similar sensitive categories.
How we use your information
We use your information to schedule and carry out services, prepare reports and quotes, process payments, meet our record-keeping obligations, and communicate with you about your service. We do not sell your personal information.
Service providers
We share information with trusted third parties that help us operate, including ServiceM8, Stripe, Google Workspace and Xero. Some of these providers operate cloud services that may store data outside Australia, including in the United States. We take reasonable steps to ensure these providers handle your information appropriately.
How long we keep it
We retain records for as long as required to provide our services and to meet legal obligations. In particular: pesticide records are kept for a minimum of 4 years, termite inspection records for a minimum of 7 years, and financial records for a minimum of 5 years.
Your rights
You may request access to the personal information we hold about you, or ask us to correct it. We will respond within 30 days. If you have a complaint about how we have handled your information and we cannot resolve it, you may refer the matter to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (oaic.gov.au).
